The position will be based in Brussels.
Senior Director, General Manager/ Pharmaceutical Sector
The General Manager will lead, manage and direct the company's Benelux Commercial Business and deliver performance targets measured in sales and profits as defined in the annual Budget and 7-Yr Strategic Plan.
He will agree, implement and achieve sales and marketing objectives, in association with the VP, General Manager France and devise sales and marketing strategies and programmes.
Main responsibilities
- Work with other executives to set Sales and Profit targets and, once agreed, ensures achievement.
- Devise strategies capable of achieving the company's Group Objectives over planned year and 7-year period and monitor progress.
- Prepare and present detailed Annual and 7-year Business Plans as part of the company's budgeting process. Update in line with company's re-forecasting requirements.
- Hire, manage, motivate and develop all staff to ensure optimal performance ensuring Company's Values are adhered to and utilising company capabilities effectively.
- Ensure organisational structure is appropriate to achieve strategies over the planning period.
- Ensure the Sales Force is organised and motivated to achieve required audience coverage.
- Recommend remuneration and incentive packages that ensure staff are motivated and rewarded to industry standards.
- Ensure Product Marketing plans are thorough, challenging and capable of achieving strategies; monitor regularly.
- Monitor and control all expenditure to remain within budget and recommend increased investment where additional sales could be achieved.
- Ensure all promotion conforms to Industry guidelines.
- Ensure up-to-date understanding of national political and economic and market environment and issues that affect the company.
- Responsible for liaising with relevant authorities.
- Liaison with Key Medical Opinion Leaders to ensure their in-depth knowledge of company's Products and recommend Clinical Trials work.
- Responsibility for management of the distributors to ensure maintenance of adequate stock levels.
- Recommend new product opportunities and acquisitions in line with the company Strategy.
- Contribute to the company International planning and direction as requested.
- Drive forward the pricing and re-imbursement process and relevant negotiations in association with VP GM France and P&R department.
Profile
University degree or equivalent level of experience in pharmaceutical / bio-tech industry.
Extensive sales and marketing management experience within healthcare industry in the Benelux region.
Previous experience at Business Unit Director level within Pharma.
Recognised experience of people management within a dynamic and fast changing environment.
Proven ability to manage effective relationships with regulatory and administrative authorities.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, French and Dutch.
- Flexible and able to operate effectively in a fast moving, dynamic and global environment.
- Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
