Tengion is developing new human tissues and organs that are derived from a patient’s own cells, thus harnessing the body’s ability to regenerate and allow patients with organ failure to have functioning organs built from their own tissues.​ Our Neo-Bladder Augment™ is in clinical trials for children with spina bifida and adults with spinal cord injury and we’re advancing our Neo-Bladder Conduit ™and Neo-Bladder Replacement ™ technology in preclinical development.​
Responsibilities
· Primary mammalian tissue culture
· Development and implementation of cell and molecular assays for the characterization of cells at various stages of culture; assays will include:
o Genomic DNA, RNA, and protein isolation
o Real-time quantitative PCR
o Cellular viability & proliferation assays
o ELISA & western blotting
· In vitro functionality testing of cells seeded on natural and synthetic biomaterials, including assessment of biological activity and complex cellular processes.​
Qualifications
· Associate, B.​A.​ or B.​S.​ in Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology or related field.​
· 1-3 years experience in the field of cell and molecular biology
· Prefer experience with cell culture, and nucleic acid/​protein isolation and quantification
· Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
