Multiskilled Technician (day shift)
My client is a market leading organisation in the production of a range of plasma products. They currently have a vacancy for a Multi-skilled Technician in the Production Engineering Department at their site based in Hertfordshire.
Duties will include Maintenance, calibration, repair, set-up and continual development of all machinery, equipment and plant services within the mechanical and electrical scope of the Engineering Department with due regard to all relevant guidelines and practices.
The appointment requires a person with a Technical Degree or HNC with additional study, or full indentured apprenticeship with experience and additional study.
Experience of engineering in a pharmaceutical or food processing environment e.g. HEPA filtration, clean steam, pure water systems, filling and packaging equipment, Ultra-filtration systems, Autoclaves and dry heat sterilizers, and various control loops etc..
The candidate should have experience of working within a GMP regulated environment.
The hours of work are 6am to 2pm, 2pm to 10pm rotating weekly shifts.
Job Purpose
Maintenance, calibration, repair, set-up and continual development of all machinery, equipment and plant services within the mechanical and electrical scope of the Engineering Department with due regard to all relevant guidelines and practices. This position will be required to work permanent nights.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide a mechanical and Electrical breakdown service for all process equipment.
· Provide on-line faultfinding and repair services to all process equipment within the Production area
· To work to GMP standards at all times (FDA, MHRA etc).
· Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance of all Process, Packaging, Environmental and Services equipment at BPL
· Development and completion of planned maintenance schedules
· The Installation, commissioning and development of complex low tolerance pharmaceutical equipment.
· Maintain documentary records relevant to all aspects of the job as part of product licence record.
· Continually develop and improve process machinery performance and working practices within the scope of Engineering.
· Calibration of all forms of Instrumentation to Company approved methods on a variety of sensitive plant, and the diagnosis of faults including variance from calibrated parameters.
· Assist with installation qualification and validation of both new plant and alternate use of existing equipment.
· Change size & set up to meet production schedule.
· Work in close liaison with Production QA & Validation.
· To Act in a safe manner and ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with BPL procedures.
· Undertake statutory safety inspections tests & certification as required by legislation.
· Flexibility is required in the performance of reasonable work needed by BPL which may not be detailed within this job description
