Head of Publication Writing

Position Title:  Group Head - Publication Writing Work Location  India – Hyderabad
Job Description       
To continue building and also operationally manage a Publication Writing Group that will ensure timely production of high quality publications (manuscripts, abstracts, short communications, review articles, publication alerts) and other written communication material (slide presentations, posters…etc) supporting company brands, research activities and business needs.
These would be meant for publication in scientific/medical journals or for presentations in scientific/Health Authority meetings based on clinical study reports, other clinical documentation (e.g. reports of meta-analyses and clinical summary documents) and general scientific/medical literature.
Publications and other communication material must conform to the company, Health Authorities and industry high ethical standards for transparency in communicating clinical research results as outlined by GCPs and industry guidelines as well as the company’s SOPs and NIPs.
Work also includes liaising with internal and external contributors, including authors & KOLs, and liaising with publication manager and/or medical/scientific journals to organize submission of publications.
Assistance will also have to be provided for planning publication and communication strategies.
Minimum requirements       
Minimum university post-graduate science degree or relevant equivalent background, including a medical degree;
advanced knowledge of Clinical Research Processes & Drug Development with at least 5 years relevant experience;
Expert knowledge in publication writing and publication management systems; good knowledge in other communication tools (poster production, slide-decks).
At least 5 years relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry or academia of which at least 2 years were in a senior managerial position;
Excellent interpersonal skills, matrix management and leadership skills;
Clear, concise scientific style with attention to details; Excellent data interpretation and presentation skills;
Good document creation and editing skills; ability to write concise summaries of complex issues;
Good written and oral English skills;
Intense literature searching capabilities.
Computer skills: Familiarity with preparing tables and figures using SAS outputs and spreadsheets. Good knowledge of word processing, statistical programs and literature/document management software.
