In 1991, two of San Francisco’s oldest and most respected medical institutions, Pacific Presbyterian Hospital and Children’s Hospital of San Francisco, merged to form California Pacific Medical Center. Primary Purpose:
Under the direction of registered dietitians, responsible for patient/resident contact, nutrition care, patient/resident menu management, data collection, and communication of patient/resident needs. Assists with the departmental performance improvement program. Acts as an integral part of California Pacific Medical Center's mission of providing high quality, cost effective healthcare services in a compassionate and respectful environment.
The Diet Assistant has two primary functions: 1. Emphasis on indirect patient care by performing support functions in the following areas: Diet Office, Patient Food Serivce Area, & Patient Menu Area. 2. Emphasis on direct patient care - assists with implementing the nutritional plans of patients and works to solve nutrition problems of patients.
* Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or related field highly preferred
* Must obtain BS degree within one year of hire
* Strong verbal and written communication skills required
* Strong time management & organizational skills required
* Must be computer proficient, especially with Microsoft office suite
* Must have a customer focused attitude
* Ability to lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs is required
* Recent experience in an acute care or long term care environment highly preferred
